National Numeracy is a charity set up to support adults in the UK to improve their confidence and competence with numbers. The National Numeracy Challenge is an online learning resource designed to help learners check and improve their numeracy – the maths they use in daily life and at work, like managing their money, working out measurements or understanding percentages, rather than algebra or trigonometry.

Boosting number skills is a great way for your staff to become better equipped to deal with life’s changes, but some people see the word “maths” and freeze. The Challenge provides a confidential, easy to use and supportive approach designed to assess and improver users’ everyday maths skills in manageable steps, while building their self-confidence along the way.

  • However your staff feel about maths, they can use the Challenge to:
  • Quickly check their everyday maths skills online
  • Work towards the Essentials of Numeracy

Improve their confidence and skills in their own time and space so they can prepare to take a formal qualification like Functional Skills

Find out more about the Challenge and how your staff can get started at: www.nnchallenge.org.uk/laww20

The Skills Builder Partnership is a not-for-profit social enterprise providing a practical solution to one of the biggest problems facing the economy today: the skills gap.

Over the last decade we have worked with educators, employers and impact organisations to create the national standard for essential employability skills. Our Skills Builder Universal Framework for Essential Skills is taught in schools across the country and is being adopted by businesses and organisations so everyone is brought together to use a common language and a consistent approach.

At Skills Builder we are big believers in lifelong learning. Our vision is of a world where people of all backgrounds and ages are supported to build the skills to succeed.

Find out how we work with pioneering employers like Boots, KPMG, and Tideway to support their employees’ learning and development, provide structure to employability outreach programmes and promote a fair recruitment process:

The LPI has launched a brand new free resource, the L&D Dashboard. Since 1995, we’ve worked with learning organisations and individuals to understand their challenges. Now, we’ve interpreted the millions of data points collected to reveal fascinating insights into L&D’s competencies and weaknesses. Having evidence of where L&D is proficient and where it struggles is critical if we are to close skill gaps, attract talent, and improve business performance. Visit the L&D Dashboard to find out more. https://www.thelpi.org/resources/ld-dashboard/ #skills #learning #performance

Back in October 2010, the LPI created the very first professional certification for virtual classroom facilitation, COLF, and it’s still going strong today. Now, more than ever, virtual classrooms and live online learning skills are a must-have. So we’re celebrating our 10 years as pioneers in this field with a social media campaign and a web page where you can download free resources to help you on your journey to becoming a virtual classroom expert. Find out more at https://www.thelpi.org/colf10/ or follow the hashtag #COLF10.
