Seven years on from the raising of the participation age to 17, how are we doing in ensuring young people remain meaningfully involved in education and training after the age of 16?

We're delighted to welcome back Michelle Thompson, Team Leader, 16-18 NEET and Participation Policy at the DFE, to give us an update on current participation figures and lead a discussion on what we're getting right and what remains to be done.

The discussion will focus in particular how we can most effectively re-rengage young people aged 16-17 who are NEET (not in education, employment or training) or, ideally, prevent them from dropping out in the first place. The DFE is keen to learn from delegates' experience of what works - so please join us to share your insights and learn from others' knowledge round the table.

The session will be chaired by the Campaign's Lead Adviser Tricia Hartley under the Chatham House rule, and there will be plenty of time for questions and debate throughout the session.
