This practical workshop will showcase practical examples of how family learning can be used to engage parents and provide them with the skills and knowledge they need to move them into volunteering and employment. This workshop uses the expertise of 'Employable Parents', an accredited programme, which supports parents to rediscover their skills.

In this workshop, attendees will:
  • find out how to build partnerships with employers that help parents understand what skills they really need to succeed in the workplace.
  • discover practical resources, which have helped long-term unemployed people to build their confidence and raise aspirations
  • be introduced to a unique online CV builder, which simplifies the creation of CVs and cover letters.

'I’ve learned so much about the world of work; the skills and qualities that employers need
and interview tips'

I’d never done a CV before. I know how to do a CV now and what to put in it
