Can your company help us improve the lives of families in their community?

The Campaign for Learning's new initiative will help lower income UK families benefit from improving their money skills.

'Train the community tutor' will train organisations to deliver high quality financial literacy sessions, where parents and children improve their money skills, whilst having fun together.

Understanding money is a learned skill. There is a urgent need to help families who are on low incomes to improve their money skills so they have the knowledge, tools and strategies to make better financial decisions and avoid financial crises. Community tutors are best placed to do this. Our training builds their skills, knowledge and confidence in delivering financial education to families.

Donate £300 and make a difference to families in your community!

A donation of £300 will cover the training for a tutor, activity resources, toolkit and ongoing support from the Campaign for Learning and would be a way for your company to have a huge impact. We will be able to offer the training for free so that more organisations and the families they work with can benefit. Our target is to train 100 tutors in the first phase.

As a supporter we will recognise your donation with a logo on our website and send you updates on progress.

About the training

The training is based on our tried and tested 'family fortunes' project, funded by the Money Advice Service and evaluated by UCL. Nearly all families who took part in ‘family fortunes’ changed how they dealt with money. Many grew their confidence and adopted positive money habits. They became better at key skills such as budgeting, saving and learning how to plan ahead. Parents also learned how to communicate with their children about money.

I learnt about my bills and how to use my money better. I speak to my children how to manage money better.

My behaviour has changed now whilst spending money. I think about what is important and is a must to buy.
