2015: Creating a Culture for Learning to Learn
4 November 2008, London

In 1998 when the Campaign for Learning began we commissioned a Ipsos MORI Poll to determine the country's attitudes to learning. Ten years on we have repeated the survey. This event will examine the implications for secondary school aged learners. How have attitudes changed? Will raising the learning leaving age really increase participation? Will the revised curriculum make learning more enjoyable? Have we made a difference? What do we need to do so that a survey in 2015 shows a culture of learning to learn in schools?

Speakers will include Professor Stephen Heppell, and Dr Kate Wall of the University of Newcastle.

National Family Learning Network - Putting Dads in the Picture Conference
5 November 2008, Manchester

The new LSC Family Learning guidance provides a new focus on engaging fathers and male carers in family learning, but how do we create a new offer that will get men through the door to learn with their children? This conference will identify successful strategies and bring together a range of imaginative projects and examples of effective practice to help family learning providers develop theor own work with fathers and make sure that dads really are in the picture.
