Learning and Skills Council
The Learning and Skills Council is responsible for planning and funding high-quality vocational education and training in England. It offers information on a range of support services for businesses including the new Train to Gain service. Train to Gain has been set up to help businesses get the training they need. It offers impartial advice, match training needs with training providers to ensure that training is delivered to meet employers’ needs. Get On
The Get On campaign encourages the millions of people in England who experience difficulties with literacy, language and numeracy, or would benefit from 'brushing up' on these skills, to enrol on a free course. The campaign aims to help create a society where adults have the basic skills that they need to find and keep work and participate fully in society. unionlearn
unionlearn helps trade unions spread the lifelong learning message among their members and potential members. It provides education programmes and support for union reps, and regional officers and national officers. Unionlearn brokers the best possible learning oppotunities for union members, it researches skills priorities, identifies and shares good practice, and promotes learning agreeements. Skills for Business
The Skills for Business Network is made up of 25 Sector Skills Councils. Each Sector Skills Council is an employer-led, independent organisation. The Campaign for Learning has already worked closely with Asset Skills (Property services, housing, cleaning services and facilities management) and Skillset (Audio Visual Industries) to encourage employers to get involved with Learning at Work Day. Business in the Community
Business in the Community (BITC), a charity with over 700 members representing the UK's top companies, is committed to improving their positive impact on society. BITC runs an Employer Champions' Network to promote Skills for Life to their peers, as well as the Awards for Excellence 'Rentokil Initial Skills for Life Award'. The Campaign for Learning is working closely with BITC to provide an information and consultancy service for employers on aspects of workplace or family learning.
