A New Era for Careers Education and Guidance: where next? Masterclass

This one-day masterclass, delivered by Dr Deirdre Hughes, Associate Fellow, Warwick Institute for Employment Research, will provide participants with an overview of EU and national careers policies, research and practice, consider the implications of a market-led approach and assess how careers service design and delivery is likely to evolve in the future. The session will cover policy formation and evidence-based findings, the professionalization of the careers workforce, the use of ICT in careers practice and employability in fast changing and turbulent labour markets.

The session will also consider the implications of the Education Bill given its passage through the House of Lords and the potential for building upon the work of the Campaign for Learning and the CREATE: UK-wide Campaign for Careers.
