About ESIF Funding and the ESIF support programme from the Campaign for Learning and AELP

With £4 billion of funding available, ESIF funding has the potential to make a huge difference to disadvantaged learners and the organisations who support them. But with minimum lot values of £500,0000, for any proposal to be successful it will need to have reach, depth and scope - in other words, it will need to involve a consortium of delivery organisations, and lead providers will need local partners.

ESIF is now here: it has arrived later than planned, and is now coming through all at once, with many calls being released across the country. The DWP and SFA are expected to issue calls for £1 billion of European Social Fund (ESF) activity starting September 2015.

How we can help

In response to requests from our constituencies of small training providers and VCS organisations, the Association of Employment & Learning Providers and the Campaign for Learning are running a support programme to help the ‘market’ work better, launched at the AELP conference on 22nd June.

The support programme includes our Partner Matching Database which will help both larger, potential lead providers build their supply chains and smaller, often local, providers get noticed. Major players in the industry such as Babcock, Capita, People Plus, PPDG, Reed in Partnership, Seetec, Tribal, Interserve and many more, are already involved on the database and looking for partners.

The Campaign for Learning delivered a free webinar in September - you can watch the recording above.

The webinar gave an overview on:

  • How ESIF funding works and the DWP and SFA calls that are expected through the European Social Fund (ESF) strand

  • Why partnerships are crucial to the bidding process and who are the organisations, 'prime leads', bidding on the contracts

  • What the prime leads are looking for in their service-delivery partners - i.e. what your organisation needs to have in place to join a partnership bid
