Top Tips

These are our Top Five Tips for running a successful Live Long & Prosper campaign.

1. See the road ahead

Before embarking on your Live Long & Prosper journey, you need to visualise the road ahead.

2. Promote the whole package

Help employees to see the ‘big picture’ and understand that planning for retirement is not just about being financially prepared. Given that retirement could last up to a third of our lives, we need to get physically and mentally fit as well. Employees will feel the benefits now, and will reap the rewards in the future.

3. Sell, sell, sell

As you know all too well, never underestimate the power of a successful marketing campaign. Get buy-in from employees by raising awareness of the project and highlighting the ‘what’s in it for me’ factors, before jumping in with delivering events. Word of mouth is the best form of marketing, as they say, so use employees as advocates and co-promoters. See the Marketing and Promotion section for more ideas.

4. Partner Up

You don’t have to go it alone.  There are plenty of organisations who offer workplace well-being initiatives - from workplace yoga to money matters.  Make the most of these to add value to your event.

5. Be a hunter-gatherer

Key to the success of Live Long & Prosper is empowering employees with the knowledge, skills and confidence to plan for their future and their retirement. There is a wealth of information out there.  Use the Links pages to create a library of retirement planning resources ... leaflets, DVDs, books and online resources.
