When promoting any learning opportunity to employees – and in particular those who have negative associations with learning – bite-size is best! Short learning activities, which are fun and focused, will not only build people’s confidence in learning but act as a spring-board to develop new skills and knowledge.
You are just 7 steps away from running your own Live Long & Prosper event, incorporating bite-size activities for staff. Here’s how.

Decide on a date for your Live Long & Prosper Day. Of course, it doesn’t have to be all day, and it can last all week. You may wish to run an hour’s session before work each day of the week to allow different store sections to attend, for example. You may also wish to consider ‘hooking’ your LLP Day onto an existing promotional campaign to reinforce the message. World Laughter Day, Sport Relief, Stress Awareness Day, and Fairtrade Fortnight, are a few examples.

When you know the time you have available, decide on the activities you’d like to run. You will find a menu of ideas under the A–Z Of Activities for LLP section. There’s also nothing to stop you inventing your own.

Promote the Live Long & Prosper event to colleagues in store. Posters, cards, scratchcards, competitions, managers dressed up … the possibilities are endless.

Evaluate your event, using our template and guidance to help you. Factor in progression: Where will you go next with Live Long & Prosper? Can you signpost staff to the Your Learning pages, and encourage staff who are unsure about pensions to talk to a financial adviser, for example?
