Live Long and Prosper: Age Matters in the Workplace
The Live Long and Prosper: Age Matters in the Workplace section highlights the Campaign for Learning’s work and participation in a wider consortium project called AGE NC. The project, which is supported under the Innovation, Transnationality and Mainstreaming ESF programme has confronted the particular challenges for older people in the North West labour market: unemployed, under employed, and in work but at risk in a fragile economy. The project has sought to take an overview and explore an integrated, strategic approach. This includes research to understand and map the issues, along with trialling practical responses for older people themselves, for employers and the intermediary agencies offering support, training, employment services and intelligence. As an ITM project, Age NC draws on experience from partners in Sweden, Finland and Bulgaria for innovative ideas and practice.

Toolkit, which is a suite of activities that you can run in your workplace to offer informative, energizing and reflective bitesize chunks of learning to support the retention of older workers in the workplace. The toolkit includes Facilitator's Guidance which accompanies the suite of bitesize sessions: Future Matters!; Planning Matters!; Health Matters!, Retirement Matters!; and Diversity Matters!
