The Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) has produced new materials about the Diploma qualifications, the first five of which are already being taught in schools and colleges in 146 centres across England. The Diploma is a new qualification for 14-19 year olds designed to prepare young people for work or further study.
Doing a Diploma won’t limit future options for students. The Higher Diploma is equivalent to 7 GCSEs, and the Advanced Diploma is equivalent to 3.5 A levels. Depending on the level of qualification, students can stay at school, go on to college, start a career or an Apprenticeship, or enter a degree course at university.
The free materials available to order about the Diplomas include:
· The Diploma: A Guide for Parents
· The Diploma: A Guide for Schools
· Diploma leaflets (by subject area)
· Diploma posters
· The Diploma: Bringing Learning to Life (DVD)
To order copies of the resources, you can phone 0845 60 222 60 or email dcsf@prolog.uk.com.
