Fit for Learning
L2L Healthcheck
How fit is your school for learning? Have you implemented Best Practice in L2L yet?
Schools are expected to have a new focus on learning that engages the whole school community and creates the habits and dispositions that will create learners for life. The Campaign for Learning has a long record of success in researching and developing 'Learning to Learn' interventions in schools that foster emotional intelligence and create the ethos of a happy, successful school. There have been a plethora of initiatives aimed at improving the engagement of students with learning, but which of them work and how far are initiatives embedded in the school culture? Exam results don't always tell the whole story and some OFSTED reports are commenting that schools are 'teaching to the test' to improve grades. As part of self-evaluation schools need to measure how far their students are learning how to learn. The Campaign for Learning are offering this Healthcheck for you to audit the work you have already done and help you plan for the future and meet the needs of the Personalisation and Every Child Matters agendas.
We offer a support service for schools that will help identify:
· How effective are the strategies you have used?
· What is the impact in the classroom?
· How can you move forward to embed learning to learn?
Our expert consultant will visit your school for a day and make an assessment based on:
· School self-assessment
· Lesson observations
· Interviews with students and teachers
· Review of documentation such as School Improvement Plan
What you will receive:
· A short report with clearly identified targets and action plan
· A verbal feedback to Senior Leadership Team or Governors
· Opportunity for further support from the Campaign for Learning through the Learning to Learn Network
