Tough times for Adult FE: implications for Further Education Colleges

As Further Education Colleges get to grips with their adult budgets this seminar will examine the short-term and long-term issues for funding Adult FE. Julian Gravatt, Assistant Director of the AOC will provide an overview of the current state of FE funding, Professor Alison Wolf will consider the arguments from her recent paper 'An Adult Approach to Further Education', and Mick Fletcher, consultant will consider the issue of fees in Adult FE. Finally Mark Corney, policy adviser to the Campaign will look at the role of learning loans as they way of squaring the circle of lower funding and higher demand for adult FE.

Tricia Hartley, Chief Executive of the Campaign for Learning will chair the event, and delegates will have plenty of opportunities to raise questions and discuss the issues.
