Schools and raising the learning leaving age

This event will examine the role of headteachers and schools in the context of the learning leaving age being raised to 17 in 2013 and to the 18th birthday in 2015. It is Year 7 in this this September who will be the first cohort who face staying on in education or training until 17 in 2013. Chris Tweedale, 14 – 19 Reform Group, DCSF will set out the government's approach to the learning leaving age followed by presentations from Simon White, NCSL and Mark Corney, Policy Adviser to the Campaign.

This event will cover implications for private schools as well as state schools.
