This event will focus on the status, role and expansion of school academies. It will provide a background to what makes school academies different to other schools, and a debate for and against further expansion of academies. It will also consider the interplay between the growing number of academy schools and the new 14-19 funding system proposed by the government.

The event will be chaired by Mark Corney, Policy Adviser to the Campaign for Learning. Presentations will be made by Sam Freedman, Policy Exchange and Professor John Howson of Education Data Surveys.
