Families for our Times Conference 2009

With address by Rt Hon Beverley Hughes MP, Minister for Children, Young People and Families

The fifth Families For Our Times conference, with help from the BBC Child of Our Time team will focus on the theme 'are we born or are we made?'. Once again the conference will explore the role of families in supporting learning using the BBC landmark series as a backdrop.

Delegates will have the chance to hear from high-profile speakers including:

* Prof Charles Desforges OBE, author of the influential report on parental involvement

* John Hayes MP, Shadow Minister, Innovation, Universities and Skills

* Dr Tessa Livingstone, Executive Producer BBC Child of our Time

* Julian McCrae, Deputy Director, Prime Minister's Strategy Unit

Attendees will be able to choose from a range of lively interactive forums on themes drawn from the Child of Our Time series, and current practice and policy in family learning including:

* Dads Make a Difference - but do they know how much?

* What's Going On Behind The Walls? Family Learning in Prisons?

* Why Draw? - What can we learn through Drawing?

Who is this conference for?

This conference is for individuals and organisations that deliver services directly or indirectly to support families learning, living and working together.

Delegate rates
This year, the delegate rate has been reduced to £169.00 plus VAT in light of the current economic circumstances. This is to ensure that all practitioners working to enable families to succeed, benefit from the conference.
