Key competencies
Competencies are skills or behaviours that are needed to perform your job. These competencies are usually learnt and developed throughout an individuals working career. Competencies differ from job descriptions as they list the abilities required to conduct tasks illustrated in the job description. Competencies can vary depending on the nature of the job however there are some key competencies, such as Skills for Life, which may be applicable to roles within your organisation:
