The Campaign for Learning is working to raise awareness of the importance of workplace learning and Learning at Work Day in the media. Your company or organisation could provide the perfect example or illustration that reinforces a Campaign for Learning news story or feature. You can join us on a national or regional level to ensure you get the coverage you want.

National Media Campaign - what we're looking for:
Case studies -Does your organisation have proof of the bottom line business benefits of training and learning and Learning at Work Day? Employees willing to share their stories of how workplace learning, and in particular Learning at Work Day, has transformed their lives? Does your organisation have an unusual approach to training and learning that they promote on Learning at Work Day?
Statistics - Do you have the figures to support the business benefits of learning and Learning at Work Day. Do you have proof that certain types of learning and training programmes and Learning at Work Day activities work or don't work in your organisation or sector?
Champions - Do you have charismatic, passionate, and confident people within your ranks who would make ideal media spokespersons? Does your organisation include experts in learning or employees who have organised Learning at Work Day for several years running? Do you have people willing to be heard on the radio, seen on TV or quoted and photographed for print features?
Pictures - Can you support your Learning at Work Day story with visually stimulating photographs? Do you have colourful, action shots of unusual learning at work in practice? Can you provide good, clear, happy headshots of any potential spokespeople ready for the media?
Pre-recording - Could you set up learning activities in advance of Learning at Work Day 2007? Would you be happy to host a television film crew to record Learning at Work Day in progress? Are you prepared to stage visually stimulating employee activities for photo shoots or filming opportunities?

- Major local employers
- Local learning champions

How to sign up to the Learning at Work Day media campaign?
To help us respond to the media as quickly as possible include the following information when you contact Louise Dennis at ldennis@cflearning.org.uk about joining the media campaign:
- Name and job title of the primary contact for PR purposes
- Direct telephone numbers - including mobile and out of hours
- E-mail address or fax number - for your sign-off approval.
- Brief outline of Learning at Work Day or workplace learning activities
- Confirmed spokespeople who have agreed to media interviews
- Brief outline of any other innovative employee learning approaches
- The level of media coverage you wish to participate in
- You willingness to host TV film crews or photographers.
2007 Media Campaign Timeline
From June 2006: We will be looking to interview employees about their personal workplace learning experience and Learning at Work Day organisers about their successful past activities to share with the media. Contact us if you or anyone in your organisation has a story to tell. Check out case studies from pervious years to give you an idea of what the Campaign is looking for.
From December 2006: We will be targeting trade and specialist media with diary notes, activity suggestions and mini articles about how Learning at Work Day has made a difference in business in general and in specific industries. Contact us If you have done something spectacular in the past or know that you are definitely taking part in Learning at Work Day 2007 as soon as possible.
From January 2006: We will once again be promoting our hugely popular Dream Job Competition. If your organisation has any real workplace examples of successful job swapping or shadowing we would love to hear them and use them to back up our media campaign.
From March 2007: The national and regional media campaign for Learning at Work Day 2007 will be in full swing.
