Learning at work Day is the perfect opportunity to promote Skills for Life (English and maths) in your organisation. Most people have a 'spiky' Skills for Life profile, with strong and weak areas. For example, a technology graduate with high level maths may need to brush up on their spelling; or a person who easily writes reports may need support to improve their maths.

This newsletter highlights the different ways you can promote Skills for Life learning in your workplace from free promotional materials and activity ideas to a special Learning at Work Day offer. Maths on the move

The Move On Up team have produced a Maths Takeaway activity. This resource is designed to support your work in encouraging and helping others to improve their maths skills, as well as activities that
you can run on Learning at Work Day for learners and potential learners.

This year is the National Year of Reading and you can join in on Learning at Work Day by:

• taking a reading challenge
• encouraging employees to join a library
• holding a bookswap
• ordering a FREE Swaps Kit visit bbc.co.uk/raw to create a book swap area
• helping parent to help their children with reading with Reading Matters and Making sense of Print
